Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen is rooted in Hà Nội and shaped by the everyday meals we grew up with, the kind of comfort that only Bà Ngoại's phở can provide and are always meant to be shared. Ngon means “delicious” in Vietnamese, and it’s named after Carol Nguyễn’s mom, Ngôn, whose love, care, and cooking continue to guide everything we bring to the table.
Welcome to Ngon
I grew up with the everyday cooking of Hà Nội, the kind of food that comforts quietly and is always meant to be shared. Before anything else, there was my grandmother, whose phở carried a warmth that stayed with you long after the bowl was empty. It taught me that care and love often live in the simplest meals.
Ngon is also named after my mother, Ngôn. In Vietnamese, it means “delicious,” and in our family, it means everything she passed down to me: patience, generosity, and cooking from the heart.
Years later, a new chapter brought us to New York. My daughter, Elys, lives here, and like many who live far from home, she missed the taste of it. Opening Ngon in New York became my way of placing home a little closer to her, and to anyone longing for familiar comfort.
Today, Ngon is at home in both Dallas and New York, carrying the same spirit from one table to the next.
